But Sadly Any Chance Of The Life Was Taken Away Frm Him. He Will Never Have Any Drunken Nights With Friends, Never Be Able Te Drive A Car, Get A Job, Have A Family, All The Small But Important Things In Life! This Is All Because Other People Our Age Killed Him, Because Of His Religion. Sectarianism Should Stop In Northern Ireland....It Will Be Very Hard Te Stop, Its Been Happening For Many Years, But It Will Stop Eventually. But How Many Young Vibrant Lives Like Michaels Should Be Taken Before It Stops? Michaels Death Shouldnt Have Happened! He Is Missed Greatly By His Friends And Family. And He Is Thought About By Many Others All Over The World Everyday! Michael McIlveen Will Never Be Forgotten In Ireland. His Name Will Live On Forever.

dear god,what is this world coming to when a young boy loses his life for his religion.i didnt know you michael,but i thought my heart would break reading your story.altho im from scotland my nana came from southern ireland and even tho she escaped the troubles early on,she cried many tears for her homeland.this shouldnt happen.rest in peace michael safe in the arms of jesus.x

I never knew Mickey but some of my other frineds did.. and when i heard about his death i was moved to tears that people could do such a thing and all because of his religon. It scares me to think that i was bullied for my religon and that what happened to him could have happened to me. I have read all the sotries and watched all the videos about mickey and he seemed such a nice fella and im sure he is sadly missed. But one thing is for sure Sectarinaism needs to stop in Northern Ireland..How many more people need to die before we realise something has to be done..

I did not know of Michael Mcilveen or Mickey Bo as I've grown to know him. I was on youtube and playing There were Roses when a comment underneath mention Mickey. I typed his name in and have read about his terrible terrible death. I don't know who he was or what he was like but I do know that his reading of his death this evening has certainly made me stop, take a few moments and think about this death. His smiling face appeared on each article and I must admit, it made me smile. I also will say that I don't think that I will ever forget his name. Its almost as if its stuck in my mind now, that and his beautiful face. A senseless death to which the killers will be out in a few years. Mickey Bo won't get his life back, so why should they? x

I see terrible stories in the news all the time - but this was one of the saddest things I've ever seen.
Such a young lad loosing his life at the hands of truly evil people. It's hard, but we all must be strong and love each other as Jesus taught us. Although, I just cannot understand how anybody could do this to a human being?
Catholic? Protestant? Why does it matter so much? We all follow the same God. Most of us want the same thing (peace). I only hope some good can come out of this heartbreaking tragedy and people will learn that sectarianism cannot be tolerated at any level because hatred is never acceptable and always carries the risk of destroying lives.
I just hope something like this never happens again. Peace be with you.

Mick, didn't know ya well, but was mad as hell when I heard some scumbags beat up a Catholic boy just 2 years my senior over in Ballymena. Mate, they're killin soldiers and cops up here again, ask God to make them stop, we're sick and tired of it. Thanks for that, I'll see ya when it's my time. Mon da Hoops!!!
Never met this young lad, am a good few years his senior. crazy loss of life, too young, too soon. The image of him smiling in the youtube videos reminds me of myself and my mates when i was youngfella, strikes a real cord. RIP Michael.
